Nournews: The UN Security Council held a vote on a resolution demanding an immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. Fourteen of the fifteen council members voted in favor, but the United States used its veto power to block its adoption.
This marks the first veto by the Trump administration in its second term — a veto that was not only a setback to peace, but effectively gave Israel a green light to continue its war crimes, genocide, and imposed famine in Gaza.
This decision came as millions of people around the world are enraged by the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, with all human rights organizations demanding an immediate end to the war. Yes — this is a genocide.
In over 600 days of continuous war, more than 54,000 Palestinians have been killed — the majority being children, women, and civilians. By blocking aid corridors and bombing refugee camps and vital infrastructure, Israel has effectively launched a systematic project of genocide and ethnic cleansing.
Every international effort to stop this human tragedy has faced obstruction from the United States. The recent veto is not only a clear show of support for an occupying regime, but also legitimizes crimes against humanity.
America: Tel Aviv’s accomplice in crime
The U.S. representative’s weak justification — that the resolution did not address the release of hostages or condemn Hamas — is mere deflection.
The real goal of the veto is to buy time and space for Israel to complete its “scorched earth” campaign in Rafah and other remaining parts of Gaza.
With this act, the United States has officially positioned itself as the partner in crime of a regime that openly celebrates the killing of children.
While the world calls for an end to the massacre, Washington stands with the perpetrators.
Trump, Netanyahu, and a coalition of crime
This veto reveals the deep and dangerous alliance between Trump and Netanyahu — two extremist politicians who have built their political gains on the blood of Palestinian children.
In today’s world, the U.S. and Israel have become an isolated island — where the principles of international law and human values are sacrificed to political ambition.
History will record: in the face of the overwhelming will of the global community, only America stood in defense of the century’s genocide.
Words that answered before the act
On the morning of June 3, Iran’s Supreme Leader, speaking at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, referred to the shocking crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza — including targeting people even while they queued for food — and said:
“This level of baseness, malice, cruelty, and evil is truly astonishing.”
Emphasizing that “the United States is complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime,” he added:
“We insist that the U.S. must leave the region.”
The Leader also reminded Islamic governments of their heavy responsibility and stated:
“Today is not a time for caution, neutrality, or silence... Any Islamic government that, in any form or under any excuse, supports the Zionist regime should know that it will forever bear the mark of disgrace.”
Although these remarks were made before the U.S.’s shameful veto, their strategic depth seemed to preemptively respond to the move — a response that shows the Islamic Republic of Iran not only seeks to enlighten but has also clearly defined the duty of the Muslim community.
