Iran’s Tayebi wins shot put gold at Asian Athletics Championships

Mohammadreza Tayebi of Iran claimed the gold medal in men’s shot put on Thursday at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships, delivering a dominant performance on the third day of competition in South Korea.

Tayebi secured victory with a throw of 20.32 meters, marking a career highlight for the Iranian athlete. He steadily improved through his series of attempts, registering throws of 19.21m, 19.34m, 19.58m, 20.27m, and finally 20.32m, which sealed his place at the top of the podium.

China’s Xing Jialiang earned the silver with a mark of 19.97 meters, while Mohammad Deob Telow of Saudi Arabia took bronze with a throw of 19.92 meters.

Iran’s second entrant in the event, Hassan Ajami, finished eighth with a best attempt of 18.20 meters.

The Asian Athletics Championships, held in South Korea this year, feature top athletes from across the continent competing in a range of track and field disciplines.
