Nournews: Admiral Alireza Tangseiri, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, reacted to Trump’s statements about reducing Iran's oil exports to zero, saying: "From a military perspective, we have the capability to close the Strait of Hormuz, but we are not doing so at the moment while we are still using this strait ourselves."
In response to comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who declared that he wanted to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero, and the question of how Iran would respond, Admiral Tangsiri clarified: "They will not be able to achieve their objectives. We have stood against them for 46 years; they cannot break the Muslims."
He continued: "Look at Gaza, where Muslims, with bare hands, resisted for over 15 months against the tyrannical, child-killing, bloodthirsty regime. Therefore, they certainly cannot break a larger country with sanctions. No matter how much they sanction us, we have achieved even greater successes."
In response to a question about Iran's countermeasures and whether the country would take actions like blocking the Strait of Hormuz in response to Trump's threats and severe sanctions, he said: "The decision in this regard is up to the senior authorities, and the IRGC Navy will act according to their orders."
The commander of the IRGC Navy stated: "As a soldier, I am the executor of the orders of the Supreme Leader. From a military perspective, we have the capability to close the Strait of Hormuz, but we are not doing so at the moment while we are still using this strait ourselves. You know that our missiles, ships, drones, and other equipment are beyond these matters."
He reminded: "In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has responded to hostile actions with reciprocal measures. For instance, in response to the seizure of an Iranian tanker, Iran also seized the opposing side's tanker. This policy is based on rejecting bullying and defending national rights."
Admiral Tangsiri concluded: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on religious and Islamic teachings, has always defended the oppressed."
