Europe's Accusation Against Iran: Human Rights or Political Pressure?

These actions are part of the West's political campaign against Iran, which, with human rights claims, has tried to pressure Iran’s independent judiciary system.

Nournews: Some European nations, in recent days, relying on keywords such as human rights and the condition of prisoners in Iran, have raised new accusations against our country.

These behaviors include targeted and directed interviews by some foreign nationals with repetitive narratives about the conditions of Iran's prisons and claims about torture and humiliation. Their credibility is compromised due to the lack of connection between foreign nationals and Iranian prisoners.

These actions are part of the West's political campaign against Iran, which, with human rights claims, has tried to pressure Iran’s independent judiciary system.

Contradictions of the West and Human Rights
The West accuses Iran of taking foreign nationals as hostages, while it itself has a long history of violating Iranian rights, from cases like the illegal arrest of Hamid Nouri and Assadollah Asadi to hosting terrorists who were directly involved in crimes against the people of Iran.
In addition to that, the human crises in European prisons, including the miserable conditions of prisoners in France and the UK, whose reports have been documented by Western media outlets, are an indication of projection and adopting a bi-standard approach regarding the West. Europe claims to be a human rights advocate but remains silent in the face of Zionist regime crimes and the massacre of Palestinians, even providing them with military support.

European Crises and Political Gestures
Europe is struggling with extensive domestic and foreign crises. Economic crises, protests by people, and political challenges in countries like France and Germany, on one hand, and Washington's pressures and the Ukraine war, on the other hand, have turned the European Union into a weak and fragile player in the global arena.
Such conditions have driven European nations to use human rights as a tool against other countries to evade public opinion and cover up their failures. Meddling remarks by officials, such as France’s foreign minister, are evaluated within the same framework.

The Path of Europe’s Future
Europe must know that policies based on accusations and pressure on Iran not only do not solve internal and international problems, but also will lead to further isolation of this continent and increased misunderstandings regarding relations with Iran.
The European Union must move away from bi-standard policies and stop accompanying the Zionist regime in the path of real support for human rights. Also, addressing internal crises and reducing dependency on the US are among the vital steps for restoring stability and authority to the continent. Such a change in approach not only will improve Europe’s international relations, but also can turn into a positive role model in the global arena.
