Speaking at the VTB Investment Forum, Putin said, "Regarding our bilateral relations with Iran, I must say that our trade and economic relations are stable and reliable, and we will certainly see an expansion of this relationship this year."
He also welcomed Iran's willingness to strengthen cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union and expressed hope that a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Tehran and Moscow would be signed during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's upcoming visit to Russia.
Pezeshkian recently announced in a televised interview that he would soon meet with Putin. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, responded to a question on Tuesday, saying, "Such a visit is being prepared, preparations are underway, however, there is no clarity as yet on when it will take place."
