Leader: Israel destined for departure; al-Aqsa Storm can’t be quenched

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei asserts that the Israeli regime is destined for departure from the West Asia region, insisting that the regional resistance movements’ ongoing anti-Israeli operations cannot be quelled.

“Al-Aqsa Storm cannot be quenched, and the usurping Zionist regime is destined for departure,” Ayatollah Khamenei’s official Persian-language account on X, former Twitter, wrote in a post on Wednesday, citing remarks by the Leader.

The post incorporated an illustration of an Israeli tank buried half in the ground with a white flag protruding from its cannon.

The movements, including the Gaza Strip’s Hamas and the Islamic Jihad and Lebanon’s Hezbollah as well as their fellow resistance factions from Iraq and Yemen, launched the operation last October after the regime began bringing the coastal sliver under a genocidal war.

Following its initial phase that led to the capture of more than 240 Zionists and seizure of sensitive bases in the occupied Palestinian territories, the operation went on to result in the deaths of hundreds of Israeli troops and officers and destruction of a considerable amount of their advanced Western-funded and -procured equipment.

Hezbollah’s successful performance in the operation also forced the regime into approving of a ceasefire deal with the movement that ended Tel Aviv’s 13-months-plus deadly aggression against Lebanon.

Also on Wednesday, the group released a statement, hailing its successful conduct of the operation, during which its fighters “were able to bring down its (the enemy’s) goals and defeat its army, and they wrote with their blood their steadfastness and perseverance.”

It put the number of the Israeli fatalities, which had been caused during the strikes, at more than 130, saying 1,250 others were also wounded as a result of the reprisal.

Hezbollah also said it pledged to complete the path of resistance with greater determination, and continue standing by the side of the oppressed, the weak, and the resistance in Palestine with the holy city of al-Quds as its capital, “which will remain a title and a path for generations dreaming of freedom and liberation.”

Earlier in the day, Hamas likewise hailed Hezbollah’s prowess as witnessed by the latter’s execution of the operation, saying the ceasefire deal had shattered Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “illusion” of reshaping West Asia by force.

It said Netanyahu’s “illusions of defeating the Resistance forces or disarming them” were also sent to oblivion.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s remarks came after comments that were made by the Leader earlier this week, during which advice was issued towards prosecution of all Israeli political and military officials for war crimes and crimes against humanity among other things.

Two days later too, the Leader called for issuance of the death sentence against Netanyahu, saying the arrest warrant the Israeli premier had recently been served with by the International Criminal Court (ICC) “is not enough.”
