Nournews: According to the spokesman of Iran’s foreign ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, ministers and top officials of ECO member states, along with managers of specialized regional organizations of ECO and directors-general of some multilateral economic organizations, will participate in this important regional summit, presided over by Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian foreign minister.
Baqaei described the status of ECO as important for the expansion of economic cooperation among regional countries and said that ECO is one of the oldest regional economic organizations among developing countries, with regional economic expansion being on its agenda. He added that since 2024, the Islamic Republic of Iran has served as its periodic chief.
Baqaei said that the summit of ECO ministers is the second meeting of this international organization’s ministers over the past six months, with the Islamic Republic of Iran serving as its chief.
Iran hosted the meeting of foreign ministers and top officials of 32 member states of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in the summer.
