Iran's exports to Armenia increased by 15%

The General Director of Trade Development for the Central Asia region said that Iran's export volume to Armenia has increased by 15% during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (which began on March 21, 2023).

Nournews: "The set goal for the first phase is a 1 billion-dollar export, and in the long term, we aim to increase this by 3 billion dollars. We anticipate that our trade volume with Armenia, as Iran’s gateway to Eurasia, will increase by 20–30 percent."
Godari said that the value of exports to Armenia in the last Iranian year stood at more than 412 million dollars, while the value of imports from this country stood at 45 million dollars.
Godari explained that the value of exports to Armenia during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year was 225 million dollars, showing a 15% growth compared to the same period in the previous year.
He said the items exported to Armenia included food, fruits and vegetables, cement, iron, chemical materials, polymeric materials, and oil-derived products.
He also noted that Iran is Armenia's third-largest trade partner, after Russia and China.
"Currently, the Iran-Armenia trade situation is good, but it can improve," he added.
He reminded that although Armenia, with a population of 3 million, is ranked 41st in terms of size and may seem to have limited potential at first glance, given the country’s economic situation and its strategic position in Eurasia, it has high capacity. Therefore, we can expect a very promising trade future with Armenia.
