In an interview with Nournews, Amiri Moghaddam said that the Foreign Minister's visit is aimed at discussing regional developments and the war in Lebanon and Gaza on the eve of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Islamabad.
The summit is set to take place in the Pakistani capital, and the Iranian Foreign Minister is expected to hold high-level talks with Pakistani officials.
The Foreign Minister, Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad at the invitation of Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, and is leading a delegation. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with his Pakistani counterpart, as well as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir.
Amiri Moghaddam stated that the meetings will focus on reviewing the developments in West Asia, with a particular emphasis on the Zionist regime's actions in Gaza and Lebanon. The discussions will take place against the backdrop of the upcoming OIC summit, which is expected to address the ongoing conflicts in the region.
Iranian envoy noted that the people and government of Pakistan have taken a strong and dignified stance against Tel Aviv since the beginning of the Zionist regime's aggression, saying, "The Pakistani government has sent several shipments of government and people-donated aid to Gaza and Lebanon."
Amiri Moghaddam added, "The Pakistani government has condemned the Zionist regime's aggression against our country at the highest level."
He mentioned that among the objectives and agendas of the Foreign Minister's visit to Pakistan are negotiations between officials, exploring ways to develop trade between the two countries, and joint cooperation to combat terrorism in the region.
He also mentioned that the last program of Araghchi’s visit is a meeting with the country's political, religious, and media elites, which will be held at the invitation of the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan.
