Erdogan: Israel ‘most direct threat’ to regional, global peace

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned Israel, labeling it as the "most direct threat" to regional and global peace.

Speaking to reporters on his return flight from Serbia and Albania, Erdogan emphasized that those responsible for safeguarding world peace must take immediate action to address this threat.

Erdogan warned that Israel's aggressive actions are not only targeting stability in Palestine but also in Lebanon, seeking to spread unrest to the surrounding region.

He stressed that Ankara is closely monitoring Tel Aviv's actions and any potential steps towards Turkey through its intelligence agency, adding that Israel's aggressiveness cannot be ignored.

The Turkish leader also referred to the Gaza genocide, stating that it has taken place before the eyes of the world and has become one of the most shameful events in human history.

He emphasized that those who support the "Zionist terrorist organization" called Israel will carry the shame of this event for generations.

Erdogan's comments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Israel's ongoing military operations in Gaza and its increasing involvement in Lebanon and Syria. The Turkish President warned that any Israeli occupation of Damascus would bring conflict closer to Turkey's borders, stating that "if Israel occupies Damascus, it will reach northern Syria."

Despite the tensions, Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to the territorial integrity of Syria and its efforts to establish peace in the country.

He also highlighted the importance of diplomacy in preventing further escalation of tensions.

In addition to his comments on the Middle East, Erdogan also touched on his recent visits to Albania and Serbia, describing them as "very constructive" for bilateral relations.

He emphasized Turkey's continued commitment to peace and stability in the Balkans.
