Araghchi: We are not seeking to escalate tensions, but we will respond to any hostile action

The Foreign Minister of Iran emphasized Iran's readiness to respond to any hostile actions by the Zionist regime, stating, "We are not seeking to escalate tensions or war."

Nournews: The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, commented on various regional issues in an interview with Qatari media on Thursday.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who traveled to Doha, in an interview with Al Jazeera, responded to threats from the Zionist regime, stating, "Although we are not looking for war or increased tension, we are prepared for any scenario. The Israelis can test our resolve."

Araghchi added, "We will see how the attack unfolds, and based on that, we will determine how to respond, which will be carefully assessed."

In response to the assassination of Martyr "Ismail Haniyeh," the political bureau chief of Hamas, and the violation of its sovereignty by the Zionist regime, as well as the crimes of the Zionist regime in the assassination of Martyr "Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah," the Secretary-General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and General "Abbas Nilforoushan," the Deputy Commander of Operations for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran launched missile strikes against the military and intelligence bases of the Zionist regime's army in the occupied territories.

After Iran's response, the Zionists threatened to attack, but Iranian officials warned that any action from Tel Aviv would face an even stronger response from Iran.

Resistance is capable of responding to the Zionist regime.

Araghchi, in his continued conversation with Al Jazeera, stated that "Israel is looking for a wide-scale war and pushing some countries into it," but stressed that "not only Iran, but everyone knows the catastrophic nature of such a war."

He emphasized that "the resistance is capable of responding to the Zionist regime, and Netanyahu did not achieve his goal of destroying Hamas in the Gaza war, and he will face the same situation in Lebanon."

The Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated Iran's support for the resistance, saying, "Our support is never limited to political and diplomatic support, and we will do whatever is necessary for them. We have never stopped supporting the resistance, not even for a day, and I announced in Beirut that Iran will never abandon the resistance."

Referring to his trip to Lebanon last week, Araghchi said, "My meetings in Beirut were serious and positive, and no problems occurred. We will support the decisions of the Lebanese government and the resistance."

Last week, in the first round of his regional trips, the Iranian Foreign Minister visited Lebanon and Syria and reiterated his support for the resistance.

The high-ranking Iranian diplomat also announced, "Consultations have been held on how to establish a ceasefire and stop the killings, destruction, and massacres."

Regarding his recent trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Araghchi said, "Major regional countries can play a role in addressing the tensions. Saudi Arabia has a significant role in the region, and Qatar also plays an influential role. We are conducting consultations with them to stop the war."

The Iranian Foreign Minister also mentioned, "Diplomatic channels with the U.S. are open through some countries, and we are exchanging views indirectly."

Araghchi concluded by stating, "The world's attention to what is happening in Lebanon and Gaza is the most important result of these consultations," and announced that there is a consensus on the need for a diplomatic solution to this crisis.
