No Iranian advisor killed in Israeli strike on Damascus: IRGC

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has denied reports that Iranian military advisors were killed in Israel’s October 8 airstrike on the Syrian capital.

The IRGC Quds Force’s deputy for communications told Iran’s Persian-language media that no Iranian advisor was present in the building hit in Damascus and that the advisors were sound and safe.

“Currently conditions are stable and the military advisers are operating in full collaboration with the command center of the Axis of Resistance.”

He said the misinformation and lies spread by Israel about assassinating Iranian and other Resistance commanders have tripled since Iran’s October 1 Operation True Promise II.

He warned the media not to aid the Zionist regime’s propaganda by repeating fake news spread by the regime.

The deputy also said the Resistance front is fully ready to hit the Zionist regime’s weak points in case the war gets more intense.

Syria’s government said the Israeli military launched three missiles from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights at the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus. Seven civilians, including children and women, were killed.

There was no immediate comment from Israel on the airstrike and it was not immediately clear what the intended target was.

However, some Western media reports claimed the building was used by Iran’s IRGC commanders and Hezbollah forces.
