Nourenews: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, on his second official trip, traveled to Qatar to attend the summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). The ACD is one of the most significant and reputable organizations in Asia, established in 2002 by Thailand with the aim of increasing collaboration among Asian countries in various fields.
The members of this organization aim to become a leading entity in Asia by integrating other Asian communities, such as the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the Eurasian Economic Union. Since last October, Tehran has held the presidency of this organization for a year. The Iranian president's visit to Qatar to participate in the new ACD summit is a significant opportunity at a critical time for the Islamic Republic of Iran to present its viewpoints on various issues in the most effective manner.
Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and Iran's Meaningful Presence
The idea of dialogue and resolving existing misunderstandings with the member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) was one of the most important initiatives discussed and implemented in Qatar. Today, the foreign ministers of Iran and the PGCC member states, in a meeting, discussed the latest regional and international developments and emphasized the convergence and cooperation of regional countries with each other in various fields.
Meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister/Closing Open Cases
On the sidelines of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue summit, the Saudi Foreign Minister met and held talks with the President of Iran. During the meeting, Bin Farhan conveyed the warm greetings of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince to Pezeshkian and emphasized his country’s determination to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. He stated, "We intend to close the chapter of disagreements between the two countries once and for all and, like two friendly and brotherly nations, focus on resolving issues and developing our relations."
Meeting with the Emir of Qatar: An Opportunity to Enhance Economic Relations
On Wednesday, the president arrived in Qatar at the head of a diplomatic delegation and was officially welcomed by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. In a joint press conference with the Emir, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not seeking war and stated, "The security of the region is the security of all Muslims." The Emir of Qatar, in the same press conference, reaffirmed his country's support for reducing tensions and safeguarding peace and security in the region. He added, "We had previously warned about Israel's attack on Lebanon. Unfortunately, despite Qatar's efforts to reduce tensions, Israel's attacks are increasing."
