JCPOA negotiations to continue

Pezeshkian on arrival from New York:

JCPOA negotiations to continue

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, upon his arrival in Tehran from New York, said, “Talks have been held about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and we also shared our concerns with European nations. The Foreign Minister is expected to follow up on the issue.”

Nournews: The President, who had traveled to New York to take part in the 79th Summit of the United Nations General Assembly, arrived in Tehran last night and was welcomed by Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, the President's deputy for strategy, Mehdi Sanaei, the political deputy of the presidential office, Mohsen Haji-Mirzaei, the chief of the President’s office, Ali Tayyeb-Nia, the President’s advisor, and Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaei, the deputy president for communication affairs, as well as Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, accompanied the President on this trip.

Dr. Pezeshkian delivered a speech at the Leaders of the Future Covenant meeting and met with several heads of state. In addition to presenting a lecture at the 79th summit of the United Nations General Assembly, the President also met with political, social, religious, and media groups and individuals at the United Nations. He elaborated on Iran’s stances on various issues and answered their questions.

Pezeshkian: Sympathy alone does not solve the Palestine issue

The President said, "It is very difficult to imagine that there are people in the world who drop bombs on others, and yet the United States and advocates of human rights are supporting them."

Upon his arrival at Mehrabad Airport, Pezeshkian stated, "First of all, I express my condolences to the families of the miners who lost their loved ones in the tragic Tabas mine incident. Several ministers, including the Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, the Minister of Health, and the Governor of South Khorasan Province, along with Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, have been following up on the matter."

He noted, "We are making every effort to prevent such incidents as much as possible, and we will do our best to ensure that the bereaved families feel no additional grief beyond the loss of their loved ones."

Pezeshkian described his trip to New York as highly fruitful, saying, "We had the opportunity to meet with heads of state and share our concerns about the Gaza and Palestine issues. It was agreed that we would hold meetings with Islamic countries to express our positions, lodge protests, and make decisions."

The President added, "We had discussions with European heads of state. They told us they have condemned Israel’s crimes, but the U.S. and Netanyahu, who you can’t even call human, must also work to resolve the issue."

The President reiterated, "If a minor incident occurs in our country, they move heaven and earth to portray it as a violation of human rights. Yet these same people remain silent in the face of Israel's crimes and the killing of hundreds of people, justifying such actions."

On the JCPOA, the President stated, "We made it clear that we were not the ones who tore up the JCPOA—it was Trump. They acknowledged this. We are continuing to follow up on the talks, sanctions, and other issues resulting from it."
