Iran joins Russia, other nations at Caspian Media Forum

The ninth Caspian Media Forum opened in Astrakhan, Russia, on Saturday, bringing together officials, journalists, and experts from the Caspian Sea littoral states and other countries, including Iran.

The one-day conference, which focuses on "cultural dialogues" between the littoral countries of the Caspian Sea, is attended by about 120 foreign guests, including government officials, representatives of regions, expert community, and mass media.

Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali, Astrakhan Governor Igor Babushkin, and Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Alexei Vlasov are among those scheduled to deliver speeches at the meeting.

The forum, which has become a platform for strengthening dialogue and cooperation among media professionals in the Caspian region, is also attended by delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries.

Iran has sent one of the largest delegations, including Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan Davoud Mirzakhani, Head of the General Directorate of Information of the Ministry of Culture of Iran Abbas Mohammadian, and representatives of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

According to Astrakhan Governor Igor Babushkin, the forum aims to promote the dialogue of cultures and share working tools and mechanisms to improve its quality. "I am sure that today's platform will become a good place for media interaction and a point of unity for the peoples of the Caspian Sea," he said.
