Iran’s acting FM meets with Lebanese counterpart

Iran’s acting foreign minister, Ali Baqeri-Kani, said that Lebanon's Resistance is the anchor of stability and peace in the region, adding that “regional countries must have a collective movement in fighting against the violations of the Zionist regime.”

NOURNEWS: Iran’s acting Foreign Minister met with Lebanon's foreign minister on his first foreign trip.

After his meeting with Abdolah Buhabib, Lebanon's foreign minister, Ali Baqeri-Kani thanked Buhabib and other Lebanese authorities for sympathizing with Iran’s government and nation after the martyrdom of Ebrahim Raisi and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and said, “I am happy to be here in Lebanon today.”

He continued: “I thank Lebanese authorities for announcing three days of public mourning in Lebanon following the martyrdom of Ebrahim Raisi, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their other accompanying members, and also for traveling to Tehran to express their sympathy with Iran’s government and people.”

“Consulting with Lebanese authorities about regional and international issues has been among Iran’s concerns, with the current trip being taken in line with the same goal.”

Baqeri-Kani said that, just as the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon is the anchor of peace and stability, the firm and dignified relationship between Iran and Lebanon is a pivotal indicator for the region.

The official said that in addition to issues related to Lebanon, the two parties discussed and consulted about Gaza issues, in particular Rafah.

“We agreed that all regional countries, particularly Islamic nations, must have a collective movement to combat violations by Zionists in Palestine, particularly in Rafah.”

He noted that holding a special meeting of ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was taken into consideration as a joint and serious measure.
