The 25-year cooperation agreement between Iran and China provides a strong foundation for strengthening and developing bilateral relations, according to the president of the Iran-China Friendship Association.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi made these comments during a two-hour meeting with Cong Peiwu, the new Chinese ambassador to Iran, on Saturday. Boroujerdi emphasized the importance of further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries, citing the 25-year agreement signed in 2021 as a key element in this effort.

Cong Peiwu, who recently presented his credentials to Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, discussed a wide range of bilateral issues with Boroujerdi and other officials from the Iran-China Friendship Association and the Chinese embassy.

China's new envoy highlighted the potential role of the Iran-China Friendship Association in enhancing cooperation in various fields.
