Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad in Syria’s capital of Damascus on Monday.
The top Iranian diplomat thanked Mekdad’s presence in the office of the Iranian ambassador to Damascus immediately after the terrorist attack.
The terrorist act of the Zionist regime has proved once again that the regime does not abide by any international regulations and humanitarian values, Amirabdollahian said, noting that the Zionist regime will definitely be punished and receive a crushing response.
He said, "We consider Syria's security as our security," while also noting that the Israeli regime and its prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu are approaching the end.
Faisal Mekdad, for his part, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria do not recognize the Zionist regime and it was well-known from the beginning that this criminal regime does not follow any international regulations or the UN Charter.
Amir-Abdollahian met with Faisal Mekdad and Bashar al-Assad separately in Damascus.
During the meetings, the development of cooperation between Iran and Syria, with a focus on increasing business interactions, as well as discussions on important regional and international issues, were on the agenda.
Amir-Abdollahian left the Omani capital of Muscat for Damascus earlier on Monday while heading a high-ranking political delegation.
