Tehran province ranked first in terms of birth rate in the country, with 131,176 births and Semnan province experienced the lowest birth rate, with 6,907 births in the past year.
According to the statistics, 51.8% of newborns were boys, while 48.2% were girls in the same year.
During the first nine months of the last year, 798,550 births were registered in Iran, with Tehran province having the highest record. The crude birth rate for the same period stood at 8.12 live births per thousand population.
