Speaking in a meeting with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mirjana Spoljaric Egger which was held on the sidelines of the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday, Amirabdollahian praised the ICRC efforts regarding Palestine and Gaza.
He also described the humanitarian situation in Palestine as complicated and very worrying.
Unfortunately, the wrong political approaches have made the political efforts to end the Gaza crisis remain fruitless, he added.
Referring to his recent meeting with the leaders of the Palestinian resistance in Beirut and Doha, he described the situation in northern Gaza as very dire.
More than 600,000 residents of northern Gaza are suffering from hunger, he stated.
The US is talking about taking the edge off the war rather than stopping it, which shows the lack of US will to end the war, Amirabdollahian said.
The leaders of the Palestinian groups consider democratic methods and a political agreement among all Palestinian groups for the administration of post-war Gaza, he added.
Meanwhile, Spoljaric Egger appreciated Iran's political efforts to help end the war and expressed deep concern about the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Unfortunately, the international community has not been able to fulfill its human responsibility in this crisis, he added.
Emphasizing the need for the world to understand the alarming human conditions in Gaza and the lack of water, food, medicine, and basic medical facilities, he said that it is necessary to make urgent efforts in this field and send urgent aid.
