Muhammadullah Bakhtiar, the ministry official in charge of international transit, made the comment on Sunday in the port city of Chabahar located in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, southeast Iran.
He told IRNA that he and his accompanying delegation have traveled to Chabahar to explore ways to remove obstacles in the way of businessmen and investors in an effort to help develop trade relations with Iran.
He said that they also seek to get familiar with the investment potential in Chabahar so that relations can be expanded further, “because Iran is a good neighbor and friend for us”.
Since Afghanistan is a landlocked country, it can use Chabahar, which has access to the Indian Ocean, to export its goods to other parts of the world, Bakhtiar explained, expressing satisfaction that local officials in the Iranian port city support the facilitation of trade.
