Gaza has turned into death zone: WHO

The head of the World Health Organization says the Gaza Strip has become a death zone as relentless Israeli airstrikes and shelling keep taking innocent lives and turning the territory into the rubble.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned on the UN news website that the situation continues to deteriorate in terms of the health situation whileinhumane conditions prevail throughout Gaza.

He stated that many areas of Gaza have been destroyed, killing people and forcing a large number of them to flee to other parts.

Ghebreyesus also touched on the problem of severe malnutrition, saying it has increased dramatically throughout the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.

“While before the war, less than one percent of the population of Gaza suffered from malnutrition. Severely malnourished numbers have reached more than 15% of the population in some areas”,

Israeli genocide continues

In the meantime, more Palestinians are killed as the Israeli warplanes and artillery rain down bombs and shells on different areas of north, center and south of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night.

According to Palestinian media, the main target of attacks were the southern Gaza cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah.

Reports say 17 civilians have been conformed martyred so far in overnight attacks on the besieged territory. Most deaths were reported from the   Nuseirat camp as a result of a bombing of a residential building there.

The Zionist regime’s fighter jets have bombed the Jabalia refugee camp in the north of Gaza on several occasions since Wednesday evening.

The regime’s relentless attacks continue despite global outcry and condemnations, with people holding rallies almost on a daily basis to demand an end to the bloodshed of Palestinians.

The Gaza Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that the number of martyrs in Israeli attacks since October 7 has reached 29,313 while the figure of the injured now stands at 69,333. The majority of victims are women and children.
