During a television program, Maduro stressed that Hitler was “a monster created by Western elites” and lamented that “today, the criminal military apparatus of Israel has the same encouragement, funding and support.”
“As President Lula said at the African Union meeting, what the Israeli government is doing is the same thing that Hitler did against the Jewish people,” he added.
In a speech to the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Sunday, Lula also likened the genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to the one committed by Hitler against the Jews.
He said the war in Gaza is a battle between an armed-to-the-teeth army and civilians, rather than between soldiers and soldiers.
Lula’s remarks, meanwhile, led to the Zionist regime declaring him as “persona non grata”.
On Tuesday, Bolivian president Evo Morales also expressed support for Lula’s stance on Palestinians, stressing that being called “persona non grata” by the genocidal Israeli regime is a “privilege” as it manifests the Brazilian president’s commitment to world peace.
Since the beginning of the war in Gaza on October 7, the Israeli regime’s military has killed more than 29,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in the besieged territory.
