Head of the Atomic Agency Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami gave the news on the sidelines of the cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday.
Eslami said Grossi’s visit will take place on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the AEOI.
The visit will also focus on the removal of misunderstandings and the expansion of cooperation, Eslami noted adding, “Iran’s interactions with the IAEA continue in a natural process.”
“Mr. Grossi has expressed willingness to visit Iran," Eslami said.
According to Eslami, the IAEA chief is invited to attend the 30th National Nuclear Conference in Iran which is concurrent with the beginning of the first International Nuclear Conference.
Once in a statement, the AEOI announced that the “30th National Nuclear Conference in Iran will be in concurrent with convening the first International Nuclear Conference in May 2024.”
In his remarks, Eslami noted that the IAEA issues a report on Iran’s nuclear situation and sends it to the IAEA board of directors and the United Nations Security Council respectively every three months and every six months.
One part of the report includes Iran’s activities in the nuclear industry and the other part relates to the July 2015 nuclear agreement, aka Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), between Iran and the six world powers, the AEOI head announced.
On the first day of the US unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in May 2018, Iran reduced its commitments to the international deal based on Articles 26 and 36.
