Iranian, Sri Lankan FMs discuss issues of mutual interest

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has met with his Sri Lankan counterpart Ali Sabry to discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Amirabdollahian, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka, met Sabry on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments and issues of mutual interest.

A joint meeting of the delegations of the two countries was also convened in a bid to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations in various areas.

The top Iranian diplomat arrived in the Indian island nation on Monday.

As part of his trip, he is scheduled to meet Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
