The secretaries of the National Supreme Councils of Iran, Russia, and Kazakhstan meet

The secretaries of the National Supreme Councils from Iran, Russia, and Kazakhstan met on the sidelines of the 6th Summit of Secretaries and Advisors of National Supreme Councils of regional countries in Bishkek, Kazakhstan, to discuss Afghanistan.

NOURNEWS: Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Nikolai Patrushev, the secretaries of National Supreme Councils of Iran and Russia, met on the sidelines of the 6th summit of Secretaries and Advisors of National Supreme Councils of regional countries in Bishkek, Kazakhstan, to discuss Afghanistan.

A wide range of subjects of interest for two countries, covering various issues from politics and the economy to security, including combating terrorism, intelligence security, challenges related to ensuring the economic security of Russia and Iran amidst Western sanctions pressure, as well as countering their attempts aimed at interfering in the domestic affairs of independent nations, were discussed.

Details of a new mutual long-term comprehensive agreement were examined during the meeting between Ahmadian and Patrushev, and it was emphasized that the convening of this fundamental document would create strong motivation for the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas.

According to the statement, global, regional trends as well as future mutual and multifaceted contacts between National Supreme Security Councils of Iran and Russia in 2024 were discussed. They also reached an agreement on the work plan of the working groups of both countries' National Supreme Councils regarding subjects of mutual interest.

Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Secretary of the National Supreme Council, left Tehran for Bishkek, Kazakhstan, on February 15th to take part in the 6th Summit of Secretaries and Advisors of National Security of regional countries upon the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is the founder of this summit, which has been held in Iran, Russia, India, and Tajikistan over the past 5 rounds.

The highest-ranking officials of national security from regional countries, including Iran, China, Russia, India, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, take part in the summit.
