Iranians purchasing houses in Turkey at a slower pace

About $7 billion has been taken out of Iran over the course of three years for purchasing houses in Turkey.

NOURNEWS: Iranians have been buying 3000 units every day in Turkey during the same period. According to the Turkish Statistical Center, however, the rate of buying houses in this country by Iranians is declining.

According to these data, the rate of house purchases by Iranians in Turkey has declined by about 48% compared to the same period last year and by 58% compared to 2021.

The lack of appropriate jobs, undesirable economic conditions, the decline of the Lira's value, inflation over 60%, changes in laws regarding house purchases for foreigners, and increases in the price of houses purchased to obtain residency are among the reasons contributing to the declining tendency of Russians, Iranians, and Iraqis to buy houses in Turkey.

While until 2 years ago about $250,000 was needed to buy a house in Turkey and obtain residency, currently, the minimum price of a house in Turkey for receiving residency is about $400,000. Purchasing a residential unit in Turkey with the aim of receiving residency costs about 20 billion tomans for Iranians (each US dollar is about 55,000 tomans).
