Iran FM reaffirms support for Lebanon’s stability

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that Iran attaches great importance to continuation of talks with Lebanon, highlighting the Islamic Republic’s firm support for Lebanon’s stability and security.

Speaking at a meeting with Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Beirut, Amirabdollahian said on Saturday the Islamic Republic has tried to stop the Israeli regime’s war on Gaza in the last four months so as to prevent the expansion of the scope of war in the region.

He asserted that Palestinians are the true owners of Palestine and they are the ones who should make decisions for Palestine and its future, adding, “We know that they have plans and political initiatives for the post-war phase as well.”

The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the recent US-UK attacks on Yemen, saying the attacks are a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the war-torn country and increase risks of intensifying the crisis in the region.

Mikati, for his part, said his country is striving for peace and stability. “Efforts should be made to end the war against Gaza and eliminate the risk of expanding the scope of the war in the region,” he noted.

He also thanked the Islamic Republic for supporting Lebanon’s stability and explained the latest political situation in the Arab country as well as the border conditions between Lebanon and the Zionist regime.

Regional resistance groups, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, have conducted retaliatory operations against the Israeli regime in defense of the innocent Palestinian people.

At least 28,337 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s war on Gaza on October 7.
