NOURNEWS- The head of Iran’s Judiciary Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie has expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of five military advisors in Syria in yet another Israeli terror attack in Damascus.
In a message on Saturday night, Iran’s judiciary chief extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital.
“The usurping and desperate Zionists, who have not been able to stop their crimes and oppression in Gaza for over 100 days, have attacked residential areas in Syria to save themselves from their inevitable destruction. During this attack, they martyred five Iranian military advisors who were in Syria at the request of the Syrian government to protect the security of the region”, Mohseni Ejeie said in a statement.
“I offer my condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Iran as well as family members of martyrs Hojjatollah Omidvar, Ali Aghazadeh, Hossein Mohammadi, Saeed Karimi, and Mohammad Amin Samadi”, he added.
In an aerial raid on Saturday, the Zionist regime struck a three-story building in a Damascus neighborhood, assassinating a number of Syrian forces as well as five members of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps who were on an advisory mission there at the request of the Syrian government.
The Israeli regime often targets Syria with warplanes and missiles, killing civilians and military personnel. Damascus, which has repeatedly complained to the UN about the Israeli violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, says that such Israeli attacks are aimed at propping up terrorists in the country.
In December 2023, Israel assassinated another Iranian military advisor, Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi in a drone strike on Damascus. Mousavi was a senior member of the IRGC and was in charge of logistics support for the Resistance Front in Syria.
Iran has already warned that Israeli criminal acts will not go unanswered.
