NOURNEWS- Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has condemned the United States’ airstrikes on Yemen, saying that Washington’s move has revealed its true nature which is aggressive and against human rights.
Raisi made the comment on Sunday during a phone call with Head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat whose country has been the target of US-pushed airstrikes since Friday over Yemeni attacks on Israeli-associated ships in the Red Sea in response to the regime’s genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
“Undoubtedly, such actions against the people who have been resisting against foreign aggression for years and are now playing an effective role in defending the Palestinian people, are rejected and condemned by the freedom-seeking nations of the world”, the Iranian president said, referring to the US airstrikes against the Yemeni people.
Raisi meanwhile emphasized the importance of protecting the security of international shipping for different countries.
He also said that supporting the defenseless people of Palestine is the principled stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that the Israeli regime is now condemned globally for its genocide against civilians in Gaza, including women and children.
Mahdi al-Mashat, on his part, said that Yemen stands firm in confronting the cruel regime of Israel and supporting the people of Gaza.
He expressed hope that the Islamic world uses its capacities to clarify the ongoing developments as well as inhumane crimes committed by Israel and its allies.
