NOURNEWS- Dr. Mehdi Safari, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, hosted the ambassadors and diplomats of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) member countries in Tehran yesterday.
In this meeting, the director general of multilateral and international economic partners of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented a summary of the activities of this forum since its establishment in 2002.
He also informed the attendees about the plans of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the presidency of this assembly.
Next, the ambassadors and diplomats present expressed their opinions regarding the ways to promote cooperation within the framework of the forum as well as cooperation mechanisms between the embassies of the member countries residing in Iran.
In this meeting, a visual report of the tourism attractions of Yazd (considering that the city of Yazd has been designated as the tourism capital of the Asian Dialogue Forum in 2023-2024) was shown.
It is worth nothing that the "Assembly of Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD)" was established in 2002 and its secretariat is located in Kuwait, 35 Asian countries including Iran, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Nepal, Russia, Turkey, Japan, China, Mongolia, South Korea, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Palestine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are member of this assembly.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been the chairman of this assembly since October 2023 for one year. Several programs such as the meeting of foreign ministers in Tehran, the meeting of heads of chambers of commerce in Isfahan, the conference of tourism ministers in Yazd are among the programs during Iran's presidency of this important Asian forum.
