NOURNEWS- Only the last three months of 2023 are enough to call this year the saddest and most unblessed year in the last 78 years, since the end of World War II in 1945. During these almost 8 decades, many wars have been fought all over the world, but it can be said with certainty that none of them have sacrificed innocent and defenseless citizens as much as the recent aggression and invasion of the brutal Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. The official and verified global statistics indicate that nearly 22,000 civilians were killed in Gaza in just three months. Twice as many were injured in this barbaric attack. More than two-thirds of these figures are women, children and disabled elderly people. The United Nations reported a couple of days ago that more than 1.8 million people, equivalent to 80% of the residents of Gaza, have been displaced so far. This is while there is no clear vision for the end of these unprecedented atrocities, and perhaps the Zionists' thirst for bloodlust and brutality will not be quenched soon, and the list of their crimes will become even longer and more painful.
The year of unprecedented crime, the dark year of silence
Aside from the sadness of these crimes and oppressions, the thing that multiplies the pain is the passivity or deception or unjustified delay of the international institutions and the claiming countries, which not only do not put an end to this governmental and systematic brutality, but with justifications, without any basis, they put a stamp of approval on this bloody record and even pay the bill for the cost of these murders publicly. The western bloc of power, including the American and European governments, most of the time openly and sometimes with silence indicating satisfaction, considered the insatiable bloodshed of the racist Zionists to be their right and canceled and prevented any action and decision of international organizations to stop the war and killing. The block of countries known as the East, in a different form and manner, followed the path of procrastination and contentment with speech therapy in the Palestine issue and did not take an effective initiative to stop this heart-wrenching cycle of violence. The story in other countries, even the Asian, Arab and Islamic countries, is no less than the story of the Western and Eastern blocs, and apart from the two or three countries that took measures to support the oppressed Palestinian people in the field of global developments, this is a sign of the organized determination of these Governments were not seen.
People, the hero of protest against violence
The only bright thing that happened in 2023 beyond the will of the governments and kept the hope open to the human conscience was the widespread and spontaneous gatherings and protests of the people of different countries condemning the brutal Zionist violence. The streets of big cities like Washington and New York to cities in Argentina, Chile and Mexico in the Americas; Citizens of Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Seoul to the cities of India, Pakistan, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, and Iraq in Asia; Paris, London, Hamburg, Brussels, Madrid, and Rome, to the cities of Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Hungary in Europe became a passionate platform for expressing disgust at the brutality of the usurping Zionists and calling "Stop the war" and "Enough with the violence against the Palestinian people." In the sky of all these great cities of the world. To the extent that since the Second World War, the memory of the world does not remember this amount of violence against civilians, nor does it remember this amount of public reaction to the racist violence of the Israelis. The people were unrivaled heroes in the field of developments in the last three months of 2023, and in the absence of the dynamism and honesty of the pretending politicians, they represented and spoke for human dignity and conscience.
Three months that turned the year into the darkest year in recent history
With this account, the last three months of 2023 are enough to put the name of this unlucky year at the top of the dark years of contemporary history. Has the end of any year been as joyful for humanity as the end of 2023? At least in these 78 years since World War II, can you find any year when the people of the world were happier about the passing of the old year than the coming of the new year? Has there ever been a year in which 80% of the people of a region were displaced and mourned in the last 3 months? Perhaps Christ (pbuh), who was the evangelist of mercy and the prophet of kindness and the teacher of hope, on New Year's Eve and on this first day of the new year, wishes that history would stop on December 31, 2023, and from January 1, 2024, a new era for mankind will begin; A time when the inherent dignity of human beings will be respected and the blood of the innocent will be respected and the safety of the weak and the defenseless will be guaranteed. Perhaps, in these first hours of the new year, he has held a candle with the intention of healing the blind eyes of those politicians who claim to be Christians and follow the teachings of the son of Mary (PBUH). Perhaps he, who is scarred by the violence of the fanatics of his time, thinks more than ever about the wounds of the oppressed people who are victims of Zionist racism. All people should say Amen to the prayers of Christ on the first day of the year and turn the new year into a global resurrection in helping the oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza with the message of prophets, sages and teachers of human ethics.
