NOURNEWS- The Tehran International Conference on Palestine started with the simultaneous and separate holding of two specialized meetings this morning at the Parsian Azadi International Hotel in Tehran.
The first meeting was held on the topic of “Role of media, thinkers, religious leaders in the war against Gaza” with the presence of a group of intellectuals and thinkers, religious figures, and media activists, chaired by Nasser Kanaani, spokesman and head of the Public Diplomacy Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
The second meeting titled “Political and Legal Effects of the War on Gaza” was held under the chairmanship of Reza Najafi, Legal and International Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the presence of a group of political thinkers and legal personalities.
At the beginning of the meeting on the role of the media, thinkers, and religious leaders in the war against Gaza, in his remarks, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referred to the holding of the Tehran Conference on Palestine at the same time as the continuation of the Zionist regime's war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, to the efforts of Jointly in the international arena to end the war and genocide taking place in Gaza, and said: “Removing the blockade, opening the borders to send humanitarian aid and opposing the forced migration of Gaza residents are among the main priorities of the international community.”
He then added: “This global demand has shown itself in the recent resolution of the United Nations General Assembly with 153 votes from different countries as the voice of the world's public opinion, and the world, with this resolution, on the need to stop the war and the crimes of the Zionists, and emphasized the establishment of a lasting ceasefire.”
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “The nations of the world clearly showed in their gatherings of several hundred thousand people that they want to end this situation and end the crimes of the Zionist regime.”
Kanaani stated: “In this situation, the Security Council must fulfill its legal and main duty, which is to protect the peace, and it is expected that the pressure on the US, which was the only country against the binding resolution of the Security Council, caused the country to hear world's voices of oppositions against its policies”.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed the hope that the Tehran Conference, with the presence of representatives from various elites of the world, will intensify the pressure on the Zionist regime and its supporters and strengthen global solidarity with the Palestinian people.
It should be mentioned that a group of foreign ambassadors and diplomats residing in Tehran, as well as some elite activists in the public and media spheres of Iran, are also present in these specialized meetings of the Tehran Conference.
