Pakistan says committed to working with Iran to fight terrorism

Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has reaffirmed Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to cooperating with Iran on combating terrorism as a “collective” threat to the peace and security of the region.

NOURNEWS- Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has reaffirmed Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to cooperating with Iran on combating terrorism as a “collective” threat to the peace and security of the region.

Jilani made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Monday, during which they discussed matters of bilateral and regional importance.

Pakistan's top diplomat strongly condemned the Friday terrorist attack on a police headquarters in southeastern Iran, which killed eleven security personnel. The Pakistan-based so-called Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Jilani said Pakistan was committed to working closely with Iran in confronting the threat of terrorism.

The two sides also discussed the Israeli regime’s genocidal war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Pakistani minister underlined the urgency of a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as lifting the siege and providing humanitarian aid to the territory.

Jilani and Amir-Abdollahian also discussed ways to further improve the “brotherly ties” between Iran and Pakistan.
