NOURNEWS- In the phone conversation between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Alena Baerbock, the latest developments in Palestine and bilateral relations were discussed.
In this conversation, the Iranian foreign minister pointed to the continuation of the killing of civilians, women, and children in Gaza and the West Bank, and emphasized the need for the international community to pay special attention to this important issue related to human rights.
Condemning the genocide in Gaza and pointing to the root of the crisis, Amir-Abdollahian said that the political solution is to hold a UN referendum among the original residents of Palestine, including Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
While pointing out the cultural and historical ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Germany, regarding bilateral relations the foreign minister of Iran noted:
Mutual respect and focus on common interests are necessary to maintain and strengthen relations in various fields, and in this framework, the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the expansion of relations between Tehran and Berlin.
The German Foreign Minister also said regarding the developments in Palestine, referring to the necessity of not expanding the scope of the crisis, that the resolution of the Gaza crisis is only possible in the shadow of political solutions.
While clarifying the need to observe the principles of international humanitarian law, Baerbocksaid: Germany wants Iran's assistance to reduce tensions in the region.
In this call, the parties discussed some consular issues, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the dialogue channel to help strengthen bilateral cooperation.
