NOURNEWS- At the request of the Swiss foreign minister, Dr. Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, had a phone conversation with Ignazio Cassis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, during the said phone call, the two high officials exchanged opinions with each other regarding the developments in Palestine and bilateral relations.
Referring to the holding of the United Nations Security Council meeting at the level of the foreign ministers of the countries on Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized the permanent cessation of attacks against Gaza and the West Bank (achieving the continuity of the ceasefire), lifting the humanitarian blockade, sending humanitarian aid including medicine, food, fuel and preventing the forced migration of residents of Gaza and the West Bank are priorities which must be achieved, and achieving these goals is also subject to international consensus.
In this phone conversation, while expressing concern about the current situation in Palestine and the occupied territories, the Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs also considered it important to release prisoners, support civilians, send humanitarian aid, and prevent the escalation of conflicts.
Referring to the consultations carried out by his country in order to protect the lives of civilians, observe humanitarian rights, and strive for a humanitarian ceasefire, the Swiss Foreign Minister expressed hope that a new round of ceasefire must begin with a view to the future.
By emphasizing the importance of the development of the relations between the two countries, the parties emphasized the face-to-face meeting of the foreign ministers with the aim of increasing the dimensions of bilateral, regional, and international cooperation.
It should be noted that Switzerland is the Protecting Power of the USA's interests in Iran.
