NOURNEWS- The first round of bilateral talks between the deputy foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation was held this morning, hosted by Dr. Mehdi Safari, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During these negotiations, after congratulating Iran on its membership in this group, Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia and the country's special envoy for BRICS affairs, pointed out the beginning of Russia's rotating presidency from the beginning of January 2024 and explained Russia's priorities regarding BRICS during the presidency of this country. The Russian official also presented a detailed report on the history and background of BRICS actions.
In this meeting, Dr. Safari also described the field of BRICS activities as very broad and diverse.
The Iranian party also expressed the serious determination of the country to actively participate in this group and said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran will do its best to play an effective and constructive role in BRICS.
In this round of negotiations regarding BRICS activities in economic, financial, trade, energy, transportation, parliamentary, agricultural, new technologies, scientific research, health, information technology, environment, air-space, Sports, culture, youth, and BRICS development in the future were discussed and exchanged.
