NOURNEWS- Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, met and discussed with Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator of the UN at this organization's headquarters in Geneva.

During this meeting, while referring to the deplorable humanitarian developments in Gaza as a result of the Zionist regime's attacks, Dr. Amir-Abdollahian said: unfortunately, the scope of the Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza is expanding, and it is necessary to take immediate and effective measures to stop the Zionist regime's attacks against this enclave.

Referring to his meetings with the officials of Hamas and the government of Qatar in Doha, the Iranian foreign minister said that Hamas is ready to take action regarding the civilian prisoners, and if the Israeli regime stops its genocide in Gaza, the resistance groups will also stop counterattacking.

Furthermore, Dr. Amir-Abdollahian said that the continuation of these conditions cannot be tolerated, and it is necessary to stop the attacks of the Zionist regime immediately. The Iranian foreign minister stressed the necessity of sending urgently needed humanitarian aid immediately and said that the attacks of the Zionist regime on the people and citizens of Gaza are retaliatory and there is no chance for the Zionist regime to win the war and the continuation of war only expands the costs of the US government as the biggest supporter of the Zionist regime and responsible for its continuation, so it is necessary to focus efforts on a ceasefire and an immediate stop to the war.

Dr. Amir-Abdollahian referred to the recent meeting of the leaders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh and said that within the framework of the working group created in this meeting, we are ready to provide any necessary help to achieve the goals of the Riyadh summit to help the people of Gaza and the working group which was created.

The Iranian foreign minister said that contrary to the claims of the American side, the amount of humanitarian aid sent to Gaza is very small and is closer to zero, and it is necessary for the UN to take immediate and serious action in this regard.

Amir-Abdollahian also called for a strong and urgent management of the UN to completely remove the blockade of the Rafah border crossing and send humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The minister of foreign affairs of Iran then said that the United Nations can count on the capacity of the Islamic Republic of Iran to achieve peace and security in the region.

While expressing his satisfaction with this meeting, Martin Griffiths, discussed the efforts of the United Nations, the Secretary General of this organization, and himself in regard to humanitarian issues, sending humanitarian aid, and the issue of prisoners.

He called the issue of prisoners important and emphasized the need to find a solution to this issue. Griffiths also considered it important to meet the basic needs of the people in Gaza, especially the issue of fuel.

He also expressed concern about the terrible condition of Al-Shifa Hospital and described it as a tragedy.

Griffiths added that the bigger concern is related to the increase in the scope of the war in Gaza, and appreciated the restraining efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to prevent the expansion of the scope of the war in the region, and emphasized the need to strengthen efforts to stop the war and end the current alarming situation.
