NOURNEWS- Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, met and discussed with his Thai counterpart during his visit to Doha due to Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara's request for having a meeting with Mr. Amir-Abdollahian.
While expressing his satisfaction with this meeting and referring to the developments in Gaza and expressing concern about the current developments, Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, the foreign minister of Thailand, requested and asked Iran to play a role in helping to free a number of citizens of his country who, according to him, were captured by the forces of the Hamas movement in the recent developments.
While explaining Iran's point of view regarding the current developments in Palestine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Amir-Abdollahian said that he would convey the request of the Thai party to the political officials of the Hamas movement. Furthermore, Iran's FM added that the Hamas movement is a liberation movement that does not seek to take hostages.
He added that with the talks he had today with the high political officials of the Hamas movement, the issue of such citizens was also discussed.
He continued that Hamas officials have emphasized that if the unending attacks of the Zionist regime on Gaza stop, then, they are ready to immediately review such requests and act for the release of such citizens.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also congratulated the Foreign Minister of Thailand on the occasion of his appointment to this position and, referring to the ancient and friendly relations between the two countries, invited him to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Foreign Minister of Thailand, while thanking and welcoming the invitation, reciprocally invited Dr. Amir-Abdollahian to visit Thailand.
