NOURNEWS- The following text is the official letter of a reformist Iranian political party, named Nedaye Iranian Party, to the United Nations Human Rights Council and this international institute's high officials. The text is as it follows:
In the name of God the Beneficent, the Merciful;
H. E. Ambassador Václav Bálek،
The President of the United Nations Human Rights Council;
H. E. High Commissioner Volker Türk;
Excellencies Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of all Members States of the United Nations Human Rights Council;
Nedaye Iranian Party, a young reformist political party in the Islamic Republic of Iran, expresses its deepest dismay and outrage at the ongoing atrocities committed against the people of Palestine, particularly in Gaza.
What we are witnessing in occupied Palestine these days is a coup against all the common moral values and legal norms that humanity has achieved during its long history. The harrowing relentless targeting of a helpless city -already the biggest open air prison on earth for 16 years-has turned Gaza into a theater of gross violations of fundamental rules and principles of international law, in particular international humanitarian and human rights law.
It is now for 8 long decades that a whole nation is brutalized under merciless occupation and inhuman subjugation. The Palestinian people remain the only nation on earth whose fundamental right to self-determination is denied by an occupying military apartheid system that is the remnant of colonialist mentality of the past century.
Excellencies,
The culprit should not be allowed to play victims. The occupying regime should not be allowed to massacre innocent people and justify it as self-defense. The 75 years of ever expanding and entrenching occupation should not be allowed to be taken lightly. It must be clear to all that the 7 October operation by Palestinians did not occur in a vacuum. The Palestinians have every right to seek their fundamental right of self-determination by all means. Their struggle for self-determination is clearly recognized as lawful and legitimate under international law.
The occupying Zionist regime has maintained and expanded its unlawful and cruel grip on the occupied land of Palestine through exceeding violence and terror and with unending support of the United States and the collective West. This has, in return, offered an iron clad impunity to the perpetrators of the most heinous crimes of international concern that are being committed in cold blood incessantly.
Unlike those who do not pay attention to the occupying regimes' crimes or even worse, help and support them, the Nedaye Iranian Party has explicitly condemned these crimes and addressed numerous cases of war crimes, genocide, and violations of international laws by Zionist regime, in Gaza, including: attacking ambulances and hospitals, journalists, schools, civilian convoys and cutting off access to food, fuel, electricity, and water and attacking infrastructure such as power plants and forcing people to choose between being killed or giving up their lands and homes.
The insolence of the occupying regime is to the extent that its leaders and commanders in the public media use expressions and titles that are defined under racist headings for all the Palestinian people, and these racist headlines, in practice, led to unprecedented mass killing of civilians, attacks on public places, including the tragedy in al-Ahadi Araby Baptist hospital and the crime of attacking the Greek Orthodox church in Gaza.
Excellencies,
In the name of humanity and human solidarity, Nedaye Iranian Party is obliged to urge you to use all your powers and means to stop ethnic cleansing, starvation and mass killing of our fellow human beings in occupied Palestine. The Gazans' access to food, fuel, medicine, and other life-saving relief must be guaranteed.
Accordingly, we request the international body to quickly form an international fact-finding committee with the participation of peace-loving and neutral countries under the supervision of the United Nations to investigate the war crimes committed in Gaza and the incompatibility of occupying Zionist regime's behavior with the fundamental principles of international law, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the provisions of the Geneva Convention and refer the results and reports of this fact-finding committee to the United Nations Security Council in order to be referred to the International Court of Justice, via this international body.
Yours Truly
Nedaye Iranian Party
