The messages of the 3+3 meeting to the world

The Tehran meeting, entitled "The time of peace, cooperation, and progress in the South Caucasus", can be a new chapter in the creation of a peaceful, stable, progressing region far from the interference of extra-regional actors, the realization of which requires the will of all parties.

NOURNEWS- The second meeting of the 3+3 regional mechanism, with the presence of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, hosted by Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Tehran on 23 October.

There are some points to consider regarding this meeting and the messages it sent to the world:

First; According to the approaches and decisions taken in this meeting, which were emphasized in the final statement, the determination of the attendees to achieve sustainable peace and expand regional cooperation was particularly evident, and the members emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of the neighbors and preserve the geopolitics of the region. In addition, they emphasized economic convergence as a practical mechanism to resolve misunderstandings and disputes.

The current economic conditions in the international system and the economic instability caused by the unilateralism policies and economic terrorism of the West make the economic convergence of the neighboring countries a necessary thing, as the final statement of the Tehran meeting emphasized the positive role of economic cooperation in strengthening mutual trust, the well-being of nations and the stability of the region.

The agreements reached between Iran and Russia regarding the Rasht-Astara railway, Baku's plan to pass the transit line through Iranian soil, the agreement between Iran and Armenia regarding the zeroing of road tolls and transit tariffs between the two countries, etc., are proof of the capacities of the countries in the region and are a testimony that the development of economic relations that will bring sustainable benefits for everyone.

Another important point in this meeting is to emphasize the welcoming of the current processes of normalization and development of relations between all the countries of the region, as in the final statement of the Tehran meeting, the openness of this meeting for the participation of Georgia was re-emphasized.

The selection of Turkey as the next host of the meeting also shows the will of the neighbors to implement the agreements made at the Tehran meeting and to develop relations and resolve challenges by relying on the capacities of the region without the interference of outsiders.

Second; One of the obvious and significant points of the Tehran meeting was the attention of the countries of the region to global issues and developments in the framework of multilateralism against the destructive unilateralism of the domination order in the world, as stated in the final statement of the meeting, referring to the exchange of views of those present at the Tehran meeting about the humanitarian disaster imposed on Gaza, the need for an immediate end to the targeting of innocent civilians was emphasized.

Third; The Tehran meeting is also important from the perspective of Iran's role in the region and its regional strategies, because, in addition to the main meeting, the meeting of the foreign ministers with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran showed Tehran's diligence and efforts at the highest executive levels in removing obstacles to convergence and development of neighborly relations.

To describe it more precisely; The Tehran meeting should be seen as a continuation of the regional and neighbor-oriented approach of the 13th government's foreign policy, which was based on the principle of bilateral and multilateral integration with neighbors and was able to strengthen the country's political and economic diplomacy.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always played an effective role in the security and stability of the region. This approach is not only in a military format, and Tehran has tried to act as a mediator to resolve the differences and crises created between the neighbors, which can be seen in the role of Iran in the meetings related to Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc.

On the other hand; Considering the existing differences between Baku and Yerevan, holding this meeting in Tehran expresses the trust of the countries of the region in the mediation and role-playing of Iran, an issue that, while disproving the West's Iranophobic claims, also reveals to the world the illusory claims regarding Iran being isolated in the international community.

Fourth; The crisis between Baku and Yerevan has led to the involvement of extra-regional actors such as America, the Zionist regime, NATO, and Europeans in the Caucasus, and experience has shown that this combination has always led to war, division, and disintegration wherever it enters, which can be seen in the Balkans, and recently we witnessed it in Ukraine. Regarding this issue, the Tehran meeting had the message that the countries of the region have the ability to resolve misunderstandings and disputes without foreign interference.

Based on this, it seems that the Tehran meeting, entitled “The time of peace, cooperation, and progress in the South Caucasus”, can be a new chapter in the creation of a peaceful, stable, progressing region far from the interference of extra-regional actors, the realization of which requires the will of all parties.
