NOURNEWS- With the escalation of Israel's barbaric attacks and the bombing of residential areas, hospitals and medical centers, mosques, churches, and other civilian shelters, especially after the attack on Gaza’s “Baptist” hospital and “Orthodox Church”, a rising number of people and international organizations are joining the ranks of the opponents of this regime's crimes.
Yesterday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, reacted to the order to evacuate hospitals in Gaza by the Israeli army and emphasized: “These reports are alarming because it is impossible to safely evacuate hospitals.”
He said that, for example, Quds Hospital currently hosts more than 400 patients and 12,000 displaced civilians, and they must be protected.
Also, in the latest case of the reaction of prominent American cultural and artistic figures to Israel's crimes, figures such as Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, John Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Susan Sarandon, and Andrew Garfield, in an open letter to the President of the United States, called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
In their open letter to Biden, they announced: “We ask your government and all world leaders to respect all the lives of the Holy Land and demand a ceasefire and its facilitation without delay - the end of the bombing of Gaza and the safe release of the prisoners.”
A few days ago, another letter signed by famous artists such as Tilda Swinton, Steve Coogan, Miriam Margulies, Michael Winterbottom, and Mike Lee was published, and these people called for a ceasefire in Gaza and sending humanitarian aid to the people.
The terrible explosion and bombing of the Baptist hospital in Gaza were so heinous that after the first news was published regarding this tragic incident, widespread reactions were formed in the world's media. During the bombardment by the Zionists, hundreds of Palestinians were martyred, including many defenseless women and children who took refuge in the hospital.
Numerous actors and famous figures of world cinema such as Nancy Ajram, Gigi Hadid, Mark Ruffalo, Selena Gomez, Susan Sarandon, etc. were among the artists and figures who have condemned the recent attacks as well as the crimes of the Zionist regime against Palestinian people in the past years.
In addition, many international organizations, including UNICEF, the World Health Organization, Human Rights Watch, and the European Union, have also reacted to the targeting of civilian centers and the order to evacuate hospitals, and while expressing concern about these events, they demand the protection of hospitals and medical centers provided by the United Nations.
