NOURNEWS- The first humanitarian aid consignment of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been dispatched to the Gaza Strip in the presence of the Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Pre-Hossein Koulivand.
The first humanitarian aid from Iran consists of around 60 metric tons of commodities, including medicines and healthcare equipment, which will be provided to Gaza residents as soon as the Rafah border crossing is open.
Koulivand supervised the procedure of delivering the first batch of Iranian aid to Gaza at an airport in the capital Tehran on Friday.
He also emphasized that Iran is prepared to set up three field hospitals on the Gaza border with Egypt and that the Iranian side is holding talks with international partners in this respect.
Iran is also preparing a consignment, which is scheduled to be delivered by ship to the coastline of Gaza.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society had expressed readiness to dispatch humanitarian aid to Gaza following the onset of unremitting attacks on the Gaza Strip by the Zionist regime on October 7.
At present, there are numerous trucks waiting for the reopening of the Rafah border crossing to dispatch international aids to the Gaza residents.
