NOURNEWS- Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yee on the phone.
Amir-Abdollahian referred to the brutal crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza, saying the situation is highly critical in the region and the top priority now is to put an end to the Zionist regime's crimes and attacks on women, children and civilians in the territory.
He also spoke about the shocking death toll and the high number of injuries as a result of attacks by the Zionist regime on homes and residential buildings and even medical centers of Gaza as well as Tel Aviv's use of banned weapons including reports of dropping phosphorous bombs, the human siege and the cutting of water, electricity and fuel to Gaza.
Amri-Abdollahian said such crimes are gross examples of war crimes and mass killing of people of Gaza.
Pointing to his regional tour and his meetings with the high-ranking officials of countries and leaders of some resistance groups in the region, the foreign minister of Iran said the situation is highly dangerous and worrying and things could spiral out of control any moment.
Amir-Abdollahian added that if the Zionists do not stop their crimes and criminal attacks on the people of Gaza, no one can guarantee that the war will not spread across the region.
Amir-Abdollahian reminded the UN Security Council of its responsibility regarding international peace and security, calling for China to use its capacities to stop the Zionist regime's attacks on the people of Gaza.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yee, for his part, voiced concern over the critical situation in Gaza.
He said the international community must push back against attacks on civilians and the Security Council must also assume its responsibility in this regard and play its inherent role.
Wang described the collective punishment of the people of Gaza as unacceptable and underlined the necessity of creating a humanitarian corridor there.
