NOURNEWS- Mohammad Reza Farzin, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, stated: Given that Iran's freed foreign exchange resources in Qatar through SWIFT and with LC openings are usable, now technical communication between Qatari banks and six Iranian banks are underway, and operating banks send the necessary payment orders and operation by establishing these technical communications.
Referring to the axes of the previous agreement between Iran and Qatar on how to use these foreign exchange resources in six Iranian banks in Qatar, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran emphasized accelerating the issue in order to start the payment next week.
Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani, the head of the Central Bank of Qatar, also stressed that Qatar is committed to all its commitments towards Iran and there is no impediment to the development of banking relations between the two countries.
Referring to the basic and good actions taken over the past days about the use of Iranian currency resources in Qatar, the governor of the Central Bank of Qatar said: The rumors raised about this issue over the past day or two are not factual and were more of a joke and a media game.
According to the report, Dr. Farzin will meet with senior IMF executives as well as a group of Central Bank Governors of the region and the BRICS Group on the sidelines of the IMF's annual meeting and will discuss the increase in monetary and banking cooperation.
The annual meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in 2023 will be held simultaneously in Morocco from 9 to 15 October.
This is the first time in 50 years that these meetings have been held on the African continent.
