NOURNEWS- Dr. Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, met and discussed with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mr. Mohammad Shia al-Sudani.
Iran’s FM conveyed the greetings of the president of the country and said that his goal to visit Baghdad is to have consultations and multiple dialogues regarding the development in Palestine and Gaza.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran added that it is no secret that the Zionist regime is committing war crimes against civilians and Palestinian citizens in Palestine.

The head of Iran’s diplomatic service said that the officials of some countries contacted Iran and asked about the possibility of opening a new front in the region, we told them that our clear answer regarding the future possibilities is that everything depends on the actions of the Zionist regime in Gaza. Amir-Abdollahian added that the action of the resistance groups in the Al-Aqsa storm operation was a totally Palestinian and spontaneous action, and the Westerners themselves have emphasized that Netanyahu's extreme behavior has led to these conditions. Amir-Abdollahian said that Israel's crimes continues and no one in the region asks us for permission to open new fronts.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that Iran is in contact with the officials of the World Red Cross and the United Nations, and through them the country is trying to send food and medicine to the people of Gaza, and it is also consulting and exchanging ideas with some countries in the region.
While thanking the strong position of Iraq in supporting Palestine and the people of Gaza, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that both the supreme authority and the Iraqi government and people and movements strongly support Palestine, shows the correct and deep view of Iraq on the Palestinian issue.
Amir-Abdollahian said that in his diplomatic contacts with the Secretary General of the United Nations and Mr. Borrell, Iran’s FM has said that what happened in the occupied territories was a reaction to the extremism and extreme actions of the Netanyahu government.
According to Iran’s FM, he has requested the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold an extraordinary meeting of the organization's foreign ministers and Iran welcomes and supports any initiative of Islamic countries to support the Palestinian nation.
Furthermore, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that it is necessary to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, and the role of Iraq is also very important in trying to achieve this goal.
Dr. Amir Abdollahian also pointed to the security agreement between Iran and Iraq and emphasized the necessity of its full implementation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also emphasized and stressed on the necessity of joint efforts to develop relations between the two countries, especially in economic fields, which was mutually approved by the Prime Minister of Iraq.
While thanking and welcoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mr. Al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, said that this visit shows Iran's re-emphasis on the Palestinian issue.
He added that Iran's position on the Palestinian issue is a fixed position and has never changed.
Iraq’s PM added that the issue of Palestine is an issue related to belief and is not a political issue, and supporting Palestine reflects the conscience of every Muslim and every free person around the world.
Al-Sudani said that Iraq is not surprised by the Al-Aqsa storm, because the rights of the Palestinian people cannot be ignored, and it is wrong to think that the rights of the Palestinian people will be forgotten by normalizing relations with the Zionist regime.
The Prime Minister of Iraq emphasized that even if we want to speak about the United Nations and international institutions, dozens of resolutions have been passed in the United Nations regarding Palestine and all were against Israel, and Israel has not adhered to any of them, and the Palestinian nation is deprived of its most basic rights, it is natural that the Palestinian nation starts a national movement against an occupation to restore their rights.
The Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized that the Iraqi nation is a friend and helper of the Palestinian nation and presented a report on Iraq's diplomatic efforts in relation to Palestine and in supporting the people of Gaza.
Mr. Al-Sudani added that Iraq supports the holding of an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to examine the problems of Gaza at the level of ministers and even presidents, furthermore, he declared Iraq’s determination and readiness for helping to hold this meeting. He added: we definitely cannot be merely an observer of the situation in Gaza, and the views of the supreme authority of Iraq in this field are also clear, Iraq and Iran will continue their efforts in this field.
