The text of the statement reads:

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Sudan, following the contacts between the high officials of the two sides in recent months, decided to resume their diplomatic relations to serve the interests of the two countries.

The two governments agreed to develop friendly relations between them based on mutual respect for their sovereignty, equality, common interests, and peaceful coexistence.

The two sides have agreed to expand their cooperation in various fields that can realize the interests of the nations of the two countries and ensure the security and stability of the region.

The two sides agreed to take the necessary measures to open the embassies of the two countries soon and to make the necessary arrangements for the exchange of official delegations to explore ways to expand cooperation between the two countries.
