1.7 billion dollars of Iran's frozen assets have been released from Luxembourg

With the issuance of the judgment of the Supreme Court of Luxembourg, judicial obstacles to accessing the equivalent of one billion and 700 million dollars of the foreign currency assets of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this country were removed.

NOURNEWS- The property and foreign currency assets of the Central Bank of Iran were seized by the Clearstream Institute of Luxembourg in 2020 as a consequence of complaints of some American citizens, and finally, with the complaints and legal protest and legal proceedings of Iran in the last few days, the Supreme Court of Luxembourg accepted complaints and legal requests of Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran and changed the previous decision of the court of Luxembourg.

It should be noted that with the legal actions and follow-ups of Iran’s Central Bank, at the current stage, the legal obstacles to accessing the foreign currency assets of this bank held in the European country of Luxembourg worth 1.7 billion dollars have been removed, and these resources are now available to the Central Bank of Iran.
