NOURNEWS- Khalaf Khalafov, the assistant and special envoy of the President of Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev in special affairs, met and talked with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.
In this meeting, the two high officials discussed the development of bilateral relations in all dimensions and the latest developments in the Caucasus region.
In this meeting, Dr. Ahmadian emphasized and stressed on the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran's special efforts to remove any insecurity and crisis from the region, furthermore he emphasized on the need for countries to cooperate with each other and focus their efforts to create peace, stability and sustainable security through dialogue in regional formats.
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, referred to the constant policy of Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the annexation of Nagorno-Karabakh to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and stated that actions that cause geopolitical changes in the region, such as those proposed by other actors regarding the issue of Zangezur Corridor, will not help the countries of this region, and will also provide grounds for the intervention of Trans regionalized military forces and certainly, these actions will cause new crises in this strategic area.
While explaining the dangers of such actions for the security and stability of the region, Dr. Ahmadian said: The Islamic Republic of Iran is firmly opposed to any plan that leads to a change in the geopolitics of the region.
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, mentioned the will and determination of the leaders of the two countries for the development of comprehensive Tehran-Baku relations, and once again announced the readiness of Iran for realizing this task and to expand the relations of the two countries.
In this meeting, Khalaf Khalafov, the special assistant of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev in special affairs, also emphasized on the expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and furthermore referred to the policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in maintaining peace and stability in the region, as well as solving regional issues in regional frameworks.
