NOURNEWS- The secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones said that 80 Iranian firms taking part in Iran’s exclusive exhibition in Sulaymaniyah of Iraq provide a good chance for Iraqi economic activists to get familiar with Iranian products.
Speaking in the inaugural ceremony of Iran’s exclusive exhibition in Sulaymaniyah of Iraq on Tuesday, Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki described economic cooperation between Iraq’s Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Islamic Republic of Iran as very important.
Iraq’s KRG and Iran enjoy high potentials and capabilities to boost the level of their trade, he stated.
Emphasizing that the exhibition will help introduce high trade and economic capacities between Iraq’s KRG and Iran, he noted that Iran’s current capacity for exporting non-oil products is above $50 billion per annum.
In this exhibition, Iranian companies can supply their high-quality products with fair and reasonable prices, he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said more than one-third of the country’s total non-oil goods are exported via free and special economic zones.
The advisor to the Iranian president pointed to Baneh and Marivan free zones and added that they will start their trade activities in the coming days, preparing the ground for the investors of Iraq’s KRG to take advantage of the opportunities created in the free zones.
He went on to say that Iran is ready to set up a joint free zone with the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government to boost the level of bilateral trade.
